ProAct is a personal safety app that helps you stay informed about registered offenders near you, your loved ones, and places you care about. It allows you to search, monitor locations, and optionally use facial recognition to identify potential matches.

Who should use ProAct?

ProAct is designed for adults who want to make more informed safety decisions for themselves and their families. Parents often use it to monitor areas around home, school, or childcare.

Is ProAct free?

ProAct offers a free tier with limited features. A premium subscription unlocks additional capabilities such as expanded searches, monitoring, and advanced tools.

How do I create an account?

You can sign up using:

• Sign in with Apple
• Email and password

How does location monitoring work?

You can add locations such as home, work, or school, and ProAct will show nearby offenders, distances from the location, and relevant details for awareness.

What is a “protected location”?

A protected location is any place you choose to monitor, such as your home or a family member’s address. ProAct tracks offender proximity to that location.

Can I share reports with others?

Yes. You can share a safety report with friends or family. This allows them to see information relevant to their location.

What happens when I share a report?

Depending on how you share:

• The recipient may receive a link to view the report
• They may be prompted to download ProAct for full access

How does face search work?

You can upload a photo, and ProAct will compare it against publicly available offender records to identify potential matches.

How accurate is face matching?

Results are probabilistic, not definitive. ProAct shows top potential matches and similarity scores. Treat results as informational, not conclusive identification.

What happens to photos I upload?

Photos uploaded for face search are used only for the search process, deleted shortly after processing, and not stored long-term.

Where does ProAct get its data?

All offender data is sourced from state registries and official public databases.

Can the data be wrong?

Yes. Data is provided by external government sources and may contain errors or delays.

How do I request a correction?

To request a correction or removal, contact the appropriate state registry directly or email legal@getproact.com.

Is my personal data safe?

ProAct uses standard security practices to protect user data. Sensitive data is not sold.

Can I delete my account and data?

Yes. To permanently delete your data, email support@getproact.com.

Can I use this app anonymously?

You can use limited features without sharing much personal data, but an account is required for full functionality.

Can children use ProAct?

No. ProAct is strictly for adults. Children are not permitted to use the app.

Can I use ProAct to confront someone?

No. ProAct is for informational purposes only. Using the app for harassment, threats, or illegal activity is strictly prohibited and may result in account termination and reporting to authorities at our discretion.

How does the free trial work?

You may receive a 7-day free trial. You will not be charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel anytime before the trial ends.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You must cancel through Apple:

• Open Settings
• Tap your Apple ID
• Tap Subscriptions
• Select ProAct
• Cancel

What happens if I cancel?

You retain access until the end of your billing period. Premium features will then be disabled.

Can I restore purchases?

Yes. Use the Restore Purchases option in the app to re-enable your subscription.

The app isn’t working. What should I do?

Try restarting the app, updating to the latest version, and restarting your device.

Face search didn’t return results. Why?

Possible reasons include a low-quality image, a face that is not clearly visible, or no match existing in the available data.

My location results seem wrong

Check that location permissions are enabled and that the address entered is correct.
